The Charles University, jointly with the University of Turku and the Utrecht University School of Economics, is pleased to announce the call for papers for the “7th Economics of Public Procurement Workshop”, which will take place in Prague on 13-14 November 2025. The event will be held in person on the premises of Charles University in Prague.
The workshop provides an annual forum to discuss recent advances in the economic analysis of public procurement and to bring together economists active in the field. This is the program from 2024.
Call for papers and financial support
Papers in the broad area of public procurement are welcome. Bellow we provide a (non-exhaustive) list of procurement topics:
Incentives, screening, and monitoring
Political economy of allocation decisions and favoritism
Governance of contracting agencies
Firm and industry responses
Efficacy of different award designs
Active and passive waste
Pre-award vs post-award outcomes
Regulation
Market structure
Both empirical and theoretical work is welcome. Interested authors are asked to submit a full paper in PDF format by 31 August 2025 via email (epp2025workshop@gmail.com).
Applicants will be notified of the acceptance decision mid-September 2025. Accommodation and travel expenses (economy class) for presenters will be covered. We reimburse flights up to €750 for intercontinental flights and €350 for European flights. There is no workshop fee.
